Synopsis: Doctor Niranjan and his wife Nalini are a couple living in London with their only son Sagara, who is a final year medical student. Donald, a practicing lawyer and his wife SUSAN live in London while their daughter Snita live in Sri Lanka. Both are close family friends. Sagara, carries on with Brenda, an English girl in the same batch. The affair turns sour when Tom an English boy who happens to be Brenda’s old school-mate, walks into her life. Living away from parents in Sri Lanka, Sanita goes out with Jeram, despite their regular quarrels. Fed up with this quarrelsome affair Sanita, after passing out her nursing exams, leaves for London when her parents invite her. There she meets Sagara, who does not show any interest in her. Sagara, who is heart broken on hearing the double timing of Brenda with Tom meets with an accident. And now…. It is Sanita who comes to attend on him with the permission of both parents. Deserted by Brenda, Sanita’s love brings new hopes to Sagara. Meanwhile, Sagara’s aristocratic aunt Karuna, who is not married comes to London for a holiday. She strongly opposes Sanita’s role as Sagara’s nurse. Following Karuna’s persuasions, Sagara’s parents decide to compare and contrast the “horoscopes” of the young couple, in accordance with family traditions. Readings not being satisfactory, sickness and misfortune being forcast for the couple the affair ends abruptly! Destined to take different ways, the separation of the young couple affects the peaceful atmosphere surrounding the lives of their parents and indeed their family friendship. It is Sagara’s aunt Karuna who is instrumental in separating the couple. Time passes by….. Sagara, now a newly qualified young Doctor, meets with an Indian girl who happens to be a daughter of one of his patients. The girl, named Jamila, who studied in Sri Lanka during her younger days, shows an affection to Sagara perhaps on the ground that he made her father recovered from illness. Sagara, now heart broken for the second time, obviously falls in love with Jamila! Sanita, moved away from London with their parents, particularly in order to forget the bitter past, is now the secretary of her father’s legal practice. One day, unexpectedly she meets one of her father’s clients, Preeman who is searching a divorce from his wife who is addicted to drinks and gambling. Eventually, with the blessings of her parents Sanita gets married to Preeman. They opened a hotel and business beginning to incline. Within a short time, Preeman’s ex-wife who is well connected to underworld, gets Preeman killed. Sanita is now pregnant…..! Meanwhile, Sagara’s new girl friend Jamila, who are now living together, developes a growth in her lungs. Sagara is devastated. Seeks a second opinion from his father and it was established that she is suffering from a terminal illness and her days are numbered. She dies soon, adding another tragic event to Sagara’s young life. Months passes by….. now it is Autumn in London……..! One fine day, Sagara meets Sanita, quite unexpectedly…. A new foundation to happiness…..! “No universal force could change or indeed influence one’s fate……. This is the truth, the propound truth in life……..”
