Synopsis: In the annals of our social history, the month of July 1983 is wafted in a mist of black deeds. Three characters whose spirits are still sullied with the repugnant smell of this Dark Mist of the July 1983 meet a Fourth Character at an Intersection in Life. SANKHABANU is a matured artist. He paints the life that is a tunnel. SUNDARINANDA is his wife. She composes poems of her fast experiences and throws them into the garbage heap of life. MADUWANTHI is the sustaining force that holds the Present in Sundarinanda’s life. Yet Kumaran has cast a long shadow into her Past. The aesthetic journey attempted by these Four Characters in creating a present cleansed of the Dart Mist wafting from the Black July of 1983 is the stuff of the “ASELA KALUWARA”
